6/7/95   NORTHRIDGE EARTHQUAKE Data Sets

The PRELIMINARY portable, SCSN and TERRAscope data
released in August of 1994 have been removed from this directory.
FINALIZED data sets are retrievable from the SCEC Data Center 
to users with individual research accounts.  For further information
regarding requesting an account, send mail to dcmgr@scec.gps.caltech.edu.

Files left in the ~ftp/pub/northridge directory are as follows:

FOCAL MECHANISM FILES
=====================

   qnor94m4.lofps.Z -- has all the M>=4 aftershocks and their focal mechanisms
                        In a few cases the FM can not be determined.

   qnor941.fps.Z   -- has all focal mechanisms for events with 15 or more
                        first motions

   fpfit.format    -- this file specifies the format of the focal mechanism
                      files.     

PRELIMINARY GPS data
====================
prelim.gps         -- set of 61 displacement vectors derived from GPS 
                      measurements before and after the northridge earthquake.
                      (from January 1995)
